ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES 2009/2010 ACADEMIC YEAR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the under- listed undergraduate programmes in the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology, Tantra Hill, Accra for the 2009/2010 academic year.

      ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

       SSSCE/WASSCE Certificate holders:

·         An aggregate score of 24 or better in both the core and elective subjects

·         Applicants must obtain at least a pass in three (3) core subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science

·         A pass in any three (3) elective subjects

       Advanced Level Certificate Holders:

·         Candidates must have three (3) Advanced Level passes (in addition to General Paper) with a Grade D or better.

o   Candidates with two (2) Advanced Level passes with a Grade of ‘C’ or better will be considered.

·         Candidates must have credit passes in at least five (5) Ordinary Level subjects (including English Language, Mathematics and General Science or a Science subject)

       Other Applicants:

The following qualifications are also acceptable for admission to degree programmes at the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology

·         Diplomas from a recognized university

·         Post-Secondary Teacher Training College certificate from a recognized institution

·         Higher National Diploma (HND)

·         Diploma in Business Studies (DBS)

       Mature Applicants

Candidates applying as Mature Students must have:

·         Credits in at least six (6) SSSCE/WASSCE or five (5) GCE Ordinary Level subjects (including English Language and Mathematics).

·         At least two (2) years working experience and/or evidence of any other educational upgrading

(NOTE: All mature students will be required to pass an aptitude entrance test and an interview)

Who should apply for the Pre-University Programme

·         SSSCE/WASSCE graduates with weak grades in one or more subjects or have not obtained the minimum entry requirement for admission into any tertiary institution in Ghana.

·         Students awaiting their WASSCE/GBCE/ABCE results

·         Teachers with Post-Secondary certificates who want to pursue university education

·         Mature students who want to pursue university education
